Terms of Service

By creating an account or continuing to use Bumean, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Bumean.

1. About Bumean

Bumean is a platform for paid voice and video calls. Users can set a per-minute rate and receive calls from other users.

Bumean provides the platform, billing, wallet, calling, and payout services described in these Terms.

2. Your account

You need a Bumean account to use the service.

You sign in using a sign-in method we provide.

You must:

• be at least 18 years old;
• provide accurate information;
• keep your login details secure;
• use only your own account; and
• not impersonate another person.

Your display name is the name other users see. Your handle is the name people use to call you.

You are responsible for activity on your account unless it happened because of a security issue that you could not reasonably have prevented.

3. Refunds and payment disputes

If you believe you were incorrectly charged, you should contact Bumean through the support channel provided in the app.

Where a refund is appropriate, we may refund the relevant amount to the original payment method or, where appropriate, return the amount to your Wallet.

Refunds may be subject to payment-provider rules and applicable law.

If a payment is reversed or charged back after earnings have been credited to another user, we may deduct the affected amount from that user's available Earnings or future earnings, where permitted by law.

We may investigate suspicious, disputed, or fraudulent transactions before processing a refund or payout.

4. Your responsibilities

You must use Bumean lawfully and respectfully.

You must not use Bumean to:

• harass, threaten, abuse, or intimidate another person;
• scam, defraud, or deceive another person;
• impersonate another person;
• use someone else's payment method without authorization;
• manipulate calls, rates, billing, or payouts;
• bypass or interfere with Bumean's payment system;
• engage in illegal activity;
• exploit or endanger minors;
• distribute malware or harmful software;
• interfere with the operation or security of Bumean; or
• otherwise misuse the service.

You are responsible for the content and conduct of your calls and interactions with other users.

5. Who you are calling

Before you place a call, you must confirm, to your own satisfaction, who you are calling.

A display name, handle, or username is chosen by the user. It is not proof of identity, and it is not a reliable basis on which to trust that a person is who they appear to be.

Bumean does not endorse, sponsor, or represent any celebrity, influencer, or other public figure. A name, handle, photo, or profile on Bumean does not mean that we have confirmed the account belongs to that person, or that we have any relationship with them.

If you intend to call someone you believe is a celebrity, influencer, or other public figure, obtain their Bumean link or handle directly from that person, or from a channel they control, and confirm it before you call. Do not rely on a similar or familiar username.

A verification badge means only that the user has connected a social account to their Bumean profile. It is not confirmation by Bumean of that person's real-world identity, public status, or authority, and it is not an endorsement.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Bumean is not responsible or liable for the identity of the person you call, including where that person is not the celebrity, influencer, or other person you intended to reach.

You are responsible for the calls you choose to place.

6. Recording and privacy

Bumean does not record or store the audio or video content of your calls unless we tell you otherwise and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal information when you use Bumean.

7. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account if we reasonably believe that you:

• violated these Terms;
• engaged in fraud or payment abuse;
• created a security or safety risk;
• used Bumean unlawfully;
• provided false or misleading information; or
• otherwise misused the service.

Where appropriate, we may give you an opportunity to resolve the issue before taking action.

If your account is suspended or terminated, we may restrict access to your Wallet, Earnings, or other features while we investigate or where required to comply with applicable law.

Any legitimate, undisputed Earnings remaining after an account is terminated will be handled in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

8. Account deletion

You can delete your account from Edit Profile.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and may permanently delete your Wallet information, call history, and other account information, subject to information we are required or permitted to retain by law, for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or other legitimate purposes.

Account deletion cannot be undone.

Any outstanding financial obligations or unresolved disputes may continue after account deletion.

9. Service availability

We work to keep Bumean available, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be available or uninterrupted.

Calls or payments may fail or be delayed because of internet connections, devices, telecommunications networks, payment providers, maintenance, outages, technical problems, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may temporarily suspend or limit parts of Bumean for maintenance, security, upgrades, or other operational reasons.

10. Your content and interactions

You remain responsible for the information and content you provide through Bumean.

You grant Bumean the limited rights necessary to host, transmit, display, and process your content so that we can provide the service.

You must have the rights and permissions necessary to provide any content you upload or share through Bumean.

11. Taxes

You are responsible for understanding and meeting any tax obligations that apply to money you earn or receive through Bumean.

Bumean may withhold, report, or provide information about payments where required by applicable law.

12. Intellectual property

Bumean and its software, branding, design, logos, features, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Bumean and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may use Bumean only for its intended purpose and in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, or misuse any part of Bumean unless permitted by law or by us in writing.

13. Disclaimers

Bumean provides a platform that allows users to connect with each other. We do not guarantee the identity, availability, behavior, statements, or conduct of another user.

You are responsible for deciding whether and how you interact with other users.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Bumean is not responsible for losses resulting from another user's actions, statements, misconduct, or failure to perform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bumean will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful or removes any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.

15. Changes to Bumean

We may add, remove, or change features of Bumean from time to time.

We may also update these Terms.

The effective date at the top of these Terms shows which version is currently in effect.

If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app, email, or another reasonable method before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Bumean after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Complaints and support

If you have a question, complaint, payment issue, or dispute, contact us through the support channel provided in the app.

Please provide enough information for us to identify your account and investigate the issue.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Any dispute will be handled through the applicable dispute-resolution process and courts with jurisdiction under Nigerian law.

18. General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean we have waived our right to enforce it later.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies expressly incorporated into them, form the agreement between you and Bumean regarding your use of the service.
